Week 14 – 3rd Aug 2019

High Roding 339-2 off 45 ov (Clarke 117*, Molloy 75) beat Eastwood 291-7 off 45 ov (Morrant 102, Huckstepp 69, Halls 3-60, Burns 3-64) by 42 runs.

Terling won the toss and put Burnham in to bat. On a very difficult wicket to play on the scores were very low, J Hamilton (33) and P Green (26) were the two top scores for Burnham. Terling’s bowlers all shared the wickets with O Dawson (10-2-23-2) and R Jagota (10-2-24-2) having the best figures. Burnham got 138 for 9 in their 45 overs.
In reply, Terling also had a tough time scoring runs, with R Jagota (24) and O Dawson (20) getting the two top scores. J Silvester (10-3-21-3) and F Ahmed (6-0-14-2) were the pick of the Burnham bowlers. Terling scored 95 all out in 37.1 overs. Burnham Sports winning by 43 runs.

Woodham Mortimer 196 all out 44.3 ovs, (Smith 78, Wright 30,  Shipton 27, Clarke-Irons 3-37) beat Basildon & Pitsea 100 all out 25 ovs, (Bennett 22, Marshall 6-21, Pateman 3-26) by 96 runs.

Noak Hill T: Zubi Hanif 115 and Gufran scored 47runs . Abdul Rahman bowled 6 overs for 31 runs and took 3 wickets.

Noak Hill T 201 all out in 43.3 overs beat High Roding 126 all our in 35 overs. High Roding won the toss and elected to field. Zubi 53 and Abdul 56 top scored to set HR 202 to win. Pick of the bowlers was Mark Gallop with 2 for 22. In reply only Steve Molloy with 49 batted for any time. Pick of the bowlers was A Ali with 3 for 26.

Basildon & Pitsea 160 all out ,39.4 ov (Gray 51 ,Poole 43, Hurrell  4-30) lost to Brookweald 163 for 3, 35.5 ov (Finch 63, Falkingham 28 runs, Poole 1-29 ) by 7 wkts

Rayleigh II 208 for 7 (Acraman 51, J Kahn 3-44, Raj 3-30) lost to  Noak Hill 293 for 8 (M Hanif 166, J Hussain 66, Wheeler 3-47) by 85 runs.

Ingatestone v High RodingHigh Roding won the toss and inserted Ingatestone & Fryerning. They ended on an excellent 267-6 with runs spread out, with the top scorer being Bates with 44no. Opening bowler Burns ended with 3-41. In response, High Roding fell agonisingly short on 264-5. Opening bat Molloy got 126 but it was in vain as Ingatestone won by 3 runs. Poole was the pick of the bowlers with 2-51.

Burnham Sports 182 all out, 39.5 ov (Laird 48, Green 30, Whittaker 24, Layzell 20, Abeyratna 4-42, Pateman 3-37) beat Woodham Mortimer 147-8, 45 ov (D Smith 39, Shipton 34) by 35 runs.

Terling 164 all out, 42.2 ov (Jagota 38, Wilding 36, O Harp 4-28) lost to Eastwood 165-3, 36.2 ov (Praghash 125*, Dawson 2-24) by 7 wkts


Week 5 – 1st June 2019

Basildon & Pitsea 179-8 (43 ovs) (Gray 57, Lambert 36, Singleton 21, Poole 21, Abeyratna 4-37) beat Woodham Mortimer 178 all out (42.2 ovs) (D Smith 82, A Smith 20, Lambert 3-44) by 2 wkts

Burnham 148 for 3 (Bridge 37, Green 34, Taylor 2 -41, Dawson 1-12) beat Terling 147 for 9 (O Dawson 76 A Wilding 21, J Wittaker 2-15. D Bridge 2-33) by 7 wkts

Ingatestone won the toss against Noak Hill T and batted and made a measly 107 all out aided by G.Smith’s 46. Rafique ended with excellent figures of 5-35. Despite opening bowler Chapman returning great figures of 4-38, Noak Hill Taverners reached their target 5 down, with opener Hussain holding the innings together with 37no.

Eastwood 226 for 6 in 45 overs beat High Roding 202 all out in 41 overs by 24 runs. High Roding won the toss and elected to field. Deeming 69 not out and Howe 46 got Eastwood to a competitive looking total of 226. Mark Gallop 2 for 36 Rory Burns 2 for 41 were the pick of the bowlers. In reply only Rory Burns 86 and Jeff Clarke 38 batted for any time as High Roding were bowled out for 202. L Harp 3 for 48 and O Harp 2 for 34 the pick of the bowlers

Brookweald 152 all out, 40.5 ov (Finch 51, Jealer  3-28) lost to Ingatestone 155 for 4, 27.5 ov (Smith 55, Brailey 40*, Lugg 2-41) by 6 wkts.

Basildon & Pitsea batted first and made 169-9 off their 45 overs. Patrick Singleton 53, Humphries was pick of bowlers with 3-22 off 10. In reply Terling were bowled out for 121 all out.  R. Jagota top scored with 28. Pick of bowlers for Basildon were L Lambert with 4-29 off 10, Basildon winning by 48 runs.

Rayleigh I 204-8 (Impey 50, Turner 45, Lynch 47, Stirrup 5-24) lost to Eastwood 207-9 (Stirrup 44*,  Turner 32*) by 1 wicket.

Burnham Sports 187 all out beat High Roding 104 all out by 83 runs.
Burnham won the toss and opted to bat. J Silvester 48* no and J Whittaker 34 had a good partnership for Burnham and M Gallop (10-2-20-3) and K Morley-Jacob, an U15 player, (9.3-2-37-4) were the pick of the bowlers.
In reply J Clarke (37) and M Gilfrin (23) were the two top scorers for High Roding, but D Bridge (8.1-0-21-4) and J Silvester (7-2-24-3) were on form for Burnham and the game was all over by the 32nd over.

Woodham Mortimer 211-6, 45 ov, (Costin 43*, Pateman 40*, Hunt 39, Beames 22) lost to Noak Hill 216-4, 34.5 ov, (Zeshan 94*, Khan 38, Hanis 30, Umait 29) by 6 wkts.

Burnham 193 for 8 (Hamilton 102*, Nolde 3-34, Godfrey 3-17) beat Rayleigh 115 all out (Silvester 3-17) by 78 runs.

Eastwood 189 all out 44.2 ov, (Huckstepp 38, Bulford 38, Hodgson & Poole 3 wkts) beat Ingatestone 180 all out (Bates 51, Sutherby 4-42) by 9 runs.

Woodham Mortimer 250 for 7 (D Smith 86, A Brown 38, Atkinson 3 -34, Dawson 2 -58) beat Terling 157 all out (Taylor 36, Cullen 33, Marshall 4 -26,  Wright 4 -42) by 93 runs.

Basildon v High Roding

Basildon won the toss and elected to bat. Basildon 210 all out in 44.1 overs. High Roding 171 all out in 38.3 overs. Basildon won by 39 runs.
Basildon started very brightly with L.Lambert 70 and J.Bonnet 44 putting on 106 for the second wicket. However some tight bowling from George Haddon 2 for 28, Mark Gallop 2 for 28 and Gus Burns 2 for 44 brought High Roding back into the game. Some late hitting from T. Poole 36 got Basildon up to a respectable total of 210.

In reply High Roding started well with Steve Molloy 59 and Andy Duke 34 putting on 89 for the first wickets. Wickets fell at regular intervals and only Tom Shrager with 34 showed any resilience as High Roding were bowled out for 171. Pick of the bowlers were T.Poole 4 for 36 and L.Lambert 3 for 26.


Week 2 – 11th May 2019

Brookweald won the toss and chose to bat. Rain delayed the start of play and reduced it to a 42 over game. Brookweald posted a score of 143 for 9 wickets with Y Shah (55) and G Hurrell (26 not out) being the two top scorers. R Whittaker (10-3-19-4) and A Stephens (4-0-8-3) were the pick of the Burnham bowlers.
In reply, Burnham scored 147 in 37.1 overs (P Green 41, J Silvester 22) with Baird (7-1-26-2) and Jarrold (7.1-3-26-1) working hard to restrict Burnham’s score.

Terling 166 for 8 (Govender 48, Acraman 3/42, Nolde 2/35) beat Rayleigh 84 all out (Ellis 33, Woolfendon 5/18, Marshall 3/27) by 82 runs.

Eastwood 68 for 1 (Sutherby 58*) beat Brookweald 67 all out (Finch 17, Wade 4-22) by 9 wkts.

Ingatestone & Fryerning travelled to Mopsies Park for Basildon & Pitsea’s opening match as a T.Rippon side. Ingatestone won the toss and elected to bat and managed to get 135 all out. Captain Blackman top scored with 57. Poole ended with outstanding figures of 5-36. Basildon squeezed home in a tense chase to end on 137-7. Bennett ended 56no with opening bowler Chapman with the stand out figures of 3-20. Basildon won by 3 wickets.

High Roding won the toss and elected to field but unfortunately with Woodham Mortimer 30 for 1 off 7.4 overs the game was abandoned due to rain.
